Sydney’s practice involves the litigation of
wills and trusts. She also specializes in the
drafting of trusts, wills, and durable powers of
attorney; probating estates; establishing,
administering and terminating conservatorships
and guardianships; and administering trusts.

Sydney Kirkland earned a juris doctor degree in
1989 from the Drake University School of Law in
Des Moines, Iowa. She received her master’s
degree in 1981 from Virginia Commonwealth
University in Richmond and a Bachelor’s degree
in Economics in 1977 from Georgetown University,
Washington DC.
Admitted to practice before the courts of
California, Sydney is actively involved in the
following professional organizations: State Bar
of California, member: Estate Planning, Trust
and Probate Section; Bar Association of Northern
San Diego County; San Diego County Bar
Association; North County Estate Planning Group;
and American Inns of Court: Oliver Wendell
Holmes Chapter.
A resident of Escondido, Syd is active in the
following organizations: Escondido Rotary; Board
of Directors, Escondido Downtown Business
Association; Board of Directors, Escondido
Humane Society; and the California Center for
the Arts and Entertainment Escondido.
